Крэветка Панда

Panda shrimp (Caridina cf. cantonensis “Panda”) belongs to the Atyidae family. As with the King Kong shrimp, it is the result of selective breeding. However, it is not known whether this was a purposeful work or an accidental, but successful mutation.

It is possible to keep in a separate and in a common aquarium together with peaceful small fish. The design should provide for various shelters (driftwood, roots, vessels, hollow tubes, etc.) where the Panda Shrimp can hide during molting. Plants also serve as an integral part of the interior and as an additional source of food.

The main diet consists of the remains of a fish meal. Shrimps are happy to absorb the remains of food, various organic matter, algae. It is advisable to use herbal supplements in the form of chopped pieces of homemade vegetables and fruits. They should be updated regularly to prevent water contamination.

Breeding is simple and does not require the creation of special conditions. In favorable conditions, offspring will appear every 4-6 weeks. It is worth considering the likelihood of continuing random mutations within the population and loss of color. After a few generations, they can turn into ordinary gray shrimps of an unpretentious appearance. In this case, you may need to purchase new shrimp.
