Японская капсула

Japanese capsule, scientific name Nuphar japonica. As the name suggests, this plant comes from Japan, where it grows in slow-moving or stagnant water bodies: in swamps, lakes, and backwaters of rivers. It has been cultivated as an aquarium plant for several decades, mainly ornamental varieties such as “Rubrotincta” and “Rubrotincta Gigantea” are available for sale.

Grows submerged in water. Two types of leaves develop from the roots: underwater, having светла-зялёны colors and wavy shape, and floating on the surface, dense even heart-shaped. In a floating state, they form ярка-жоўты кветкі.

The Japanese egg-pod is not whimsical at all and can grow both in aquariums (only large enough ones) and in open ponds. Perfectly acclimatizes to various conditions (lighting, water hardness, temperature) and does not need additional fertilizers.
